I am a downright feminist and I would also break all hell loose if any one tried and fiddled with my self-respect. Still this episode is not more about gender bias than your hospitality, which was returned unfavourably -- because a "lady" (your guest) has complained about the tidiness of the bathroom, to an elderly lady (your MIL) and a lady (you) was effected. Everyone involved is a woman here. It's pathetic to come to know such things are really happening in this era in educated families. Be strong Sudha!
